Bellies For Life is an annual all bellydance breast cancer fundraiser. All proceeds of this yearly event are donated to a chosen breast cancer organization. Thanks to the amazingly supportive community in Champaign-Urbana, almost everything required for this night is either donated (the space by the Highdive, for example) or accounted for by volunteers (dancers, emcee, doormen, camera man etc.). This minimizes the costs and maximizes the total donation.
Other than money, BFL also strives to raise breast cancer awareness and to encourage young women to perform self exams. Bellies For Life also aims at further exposing the local crowd to the art of Belly Dance in all of its classic and modern forms. A night of fun and entertainment, all the while for a superiorly good cause.
